Mitchell Weiss, MD
Chairman, Radiation Oncology

Dr. Mitchell Weiss is the Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Monmouth Medical Center. Dr. Weiss specializes in intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), treatment of head and neck cancers and gynecologic malignancies. |
Dr. Weiss was instrumental in getting Monmouth Medical Center to join a national clinical trial on reducing certain complications of radiation treatment.
In 2005, Dr. Weiss was the Chairman of the Institute for Advanced Radiation Oncology, and Chief Resident in Radiation Therapy at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, from 2002-2003. Dr. Weiss received his Bachlor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana, and received his medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical School.
Dr. Weiss is professionally affiliated with the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, The American Society for Clinical Oncology, the American Brachytherapy Society, Oncology Group, New York Roengten Society and the New York Metropolitan Cancer Group.
Dr. Weiss has gained international, national and state recognition for his clinical research into advanced methods of radiation therapy and TomoTherapy Inc. recently named Monmouth Medical Center's Institute for Advanced Radiation Oncology their official physician global training site. Monmouth has been selected as the first Global site, and with Dr. Weiss' leadership, Monmouth will offer 10 three-day trainings each year for radiation oncologists from around the world.
