Long Branch, NJ - New Jersey Governor
Jon Corzine extended his greetings and commendation to Morgan
E.Cline and Benjamin R. D’Onofrio during the Naming Ceremony
of Monmouth Medical Center’s Cline-D’Onofrio Emergency
Services Pavilion on Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2007. Addressing
civic leaders, hospital executives and staff and family and friends
of Mr. Cline and Mr. D’Onofrio, Assistant Commissioner of
the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services William Conroy,
read from a letter from Governor Corzine stating, “It is
only through the concern and commitment of individuals such as
yourselves that we may hope to build a new and brighter future
for all residents of New Jersey.”
After more than 100 years, the
Monmouth Medical Center Emergency Center was named the Cline-D’Onofrio
Emergency Services Pavilion in recognition of a recent $3 million
donation given by the Middletown residents and philanthropists.
This donation was offered in acknowledgement
and appreciation for the superior care Cline and D’Onofrio
received during multiple health crises. The gift will assist in
enlarging and renovating MMC’s Emergency Room which treats
over 46,000 patients per year. This gift also marks the first
donation towards the upcoming Capital Campaign of the Hospital
which is necessary to serve the growing population in Monmouth
County and especially Long Branch. In his comments Cline stated,
“We stand here before so many of our friends and neighbors
to acknowledge this wonderful tribute, which will remind all who
come here that there were once two grateful patients who made
an effort to say ‘Thank you’ to the Monmouth Medical
Center for all it contributes to this area.”
Also addressing the Press and
invited guests were Dr. John A. Brennan, Senior Vice President,
Clinical and Emergency Services, Saint Barnabas Health Care Systems;
